How is Your Security After the Fact?

KeylessEntryLocks.comThe CEO of Roof Magic, David, started his own business a few years ago. After just a couple of months, Roof Magic, Inc. was doing great, fixing four or five roofs a month. He had a great team of guys and they came out on every roofing job and worked at their little shop nearby.

Matthew, one of David's workers, talked the next door neighbors and convinced them to hire Roof Magic to re-roof their house. Matthew felt he Burglary Picdeserved a commission for the sale and mentioned it to David, but David thought he was just kidding around, since they had never discussed this before and David could not increase the bid price at that point to cover a commission.

On payday, when there was no extra money in his paycheck, Matthew’s temper got the best of him and he stormed after David. The conversation did not go well. Each person felt they were right and neither would give in.  In the end, Matthew no longer had a job and David felt he needed to call a locksmith to change all the locks on the his business -- both in his shop and on his vehicle.

Burglary PicHow could David have prevented this?  Besides the obvious need for better communication, David should also have installed keyless locks to protect his buildings and vehicles.  With a keyless lock, such as a Lockey 2835 Latchbolt Lock and / or an Essex AKE–5 Keypad Vehicle Entry System, he could have easily changed the combination and gone on with his day, with no extra cost or risk.
