Does Your House Scream “Pick Me, Pick Me”?

Kelsey and Mason's Vacation!

Back in June, Kelsey hadn't taken a day off of work in forever. She wanted to take her dog, Mason, and get out of the house to go to a Glacier National Park for a relaxing week getaway. The park was close to their house and she knew her neighborhood and who she lived around. She loved it there and felt secure.

Friday finally came and they were ready. Mason loved being outside and going on long walks by the lake was always his favorite there. The relaxing week flew by and soon, it was time to get back to reality at home.
But the reality was shocking. Someone had figured out that Kelsey's house was empty. The police said the burglar might have noticed the house looked the same everyday. At any rate, they entered the house through the garage and used a credit card to open the old-style, keyed lock on the house door and ransacked their house.

Is there a way Kelsey could have prevented this?

Yes.
